Central Washington Jr. Livestock Show Is This Weekend In Toppenish
It's the 68th Annual Central Washington Jr. Livestock Show kicks off this weekend in Toppenish. It'll be an exciting few days as kids will be showing off beef, sheep and hogs until May 3rd.
The Central Washington Junior Livestock Show is a great showcase for kids to teach modern selection, raising and showing techniques to beef, sheep, and hogs.
The CWJLVS main purpose is to promote and understanding of the beef, sheep and hog industry in youth, and provide healthy competition that promotes life skills, such as sportsmanship, proper decision making and responsibility with the “hands on” approach of learning by doing according to the Central Washington Junior Livestock Show's website.
Money for premiums, prizes, and awards are supported by funds from the State of Washington.
The sponsoring agency for the Central Washington Jr. Livestock Show is the Washington State Department of Agriculture and most functions of the livestock show are accomplished by the many volunteers.
