Cheyenne’s Winter Clothing Drive Distribution
I asked, and I received ... in a big way. A month ago I asked the valley to donate new or gently used winter clothes to help local kids, and the amount of clothes and support I received was overwhelming!
A quick recap: This all started when Gunner and myself were recording the Pledge of Allegiance at local elementary schools. We noticed a lot of kids who were not appropriately dressed for the cold weather. After seeing that, I decided I was going to do something about it.
So I called upon the public to drop off lightly used or or new clothes around the valley. I also had gift cards that were donated and I received lots of donated scarves, gloves and hats! A Girl Scout troop donated, then a local farmer, businesses ... the list goes on.
The first video is right before I went inside to start the distribution and talking about how I was feeling going into the school, and the second video is after I was all done... the emotion is raw and genuine...
Again, I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have the support of the community and I am so proud to come from a town that can rally behind a good cause. In the end we clothed about 15 kids with a couple of sets of clothes!!
