Bob Saget to Host CMT’s New ‘Nashville Squares’ Game Show

The classic television game show Hollywood Squares is getting a Music City-focused reboot on CMT. Nashville Squares, hosted by comedian Bob Saget, will put actors, musicians and other celebrities in the spotlight as both contestants and square-fillers.

For the uninitiated: Hollywood Squares pits two contestants against each other in a game of tic-tac-toe — only the nine-square board is full of celebrities who pose questions and stand in the way of the contestants earning their X or O on their way to winning the game. Nashville Squares will follow the same format, but with a country music focus. According to a press release, the game show will also feature "exciting musical moments, fun and unpredictable competition, dance choreography from the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: All Stars and much more."

As host, Saget (of Full House fame) will oversee the proceedings, which will involve comedian Bill Engvall, singer-songwriter Devin Dawson, NASCAR driver Kyle Busch and many more celebrities. In addition to Dawson, the list of guests touted for the show's first season also includes country artists Deana Carter, Jana Kramer (and her husband, Michael Caussin), Jimmie Allen, Marie Osmond, Mickey Guyton, Mitchell Tenpenny, Sara Evans, Tanya Tucker, High Valley's Brad and Curtis Rempel, Thompson Square's Keifer and Shawna Thompson and Hayley Orrantia.

Nashville Squares is being executive produced by CMT's Candida Boyette-Clemons and Trevor Rose and Jesse Collins Entertainment's Jesse Collins and Dionne Harmon, the latter of whom are also working on Hip Hop Squares, a hip-hop-focused version of the show for VH1, which is also owned by CMT's parent company, Viacom. Neal Konstantini is the showrunner, and Ivan Dudynsky is its director.

Nashville Squares is set to premiere on Nov. 1 and air on Fridays at 8PM ET.
