The beginning of spring brings lots of great things to the valley -- Spring Barrel, festivals, baseball ... and local farmers markets!

The Downtown Farmers Market and the Yakima Farmers Market will return to the Yakima Valley this Sunday! That's right, on Mother's Day. What better way to celebrate Mom than with a crisp walk through fresh produce?

You can check out the Downtown Farmers Market every Sunday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., in front of the Capitol Theatre, 19 S. Third St.

The Yakima Farmers Market runs from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the southwest parking lot of the Valley Mall near Sears, with 30-plus vendors, breakfast from 8:30-10 a.m. and this week, flower starts to the first 200 moms who show up.

They're also planning a special kids day the third Sunday of each month this season,  which runs through Oct. 27. While you're there, congratulate Don Eastridge on his 20th year of managing the Yakima Farmers Market.
