This Dreamy WA State Airbnb Mansion Gets Trashed in the Reviews
This dreamy Airbnb mansion in Woodland, Washington, that goes for $1,990 per night is getting some terrible, horrible, no-good, really bad reviews! It's hard to imagine there could be any such negative critiques, I mean, just LOOK at the outside of this stunning mansion! It looks BEYOND breathtaking. Is this a case of, "SOME PEOPLE JUST WANT SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT!" or is there more to this place that meets the eye?
ARE THE AIRBNB KARENS KARENNING?
Are the Airbnb reviews for "The Empress Estate" just filled with a bunch of Karens Karenning, or are the complaints legit? You can check out the pictures of the interior rooms below for yourself and then be the judge of that, but first let me tell you why it's getting so many unpleasant reviews.
A LIST OF THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AIRBNB MANSION
- It doesn't come with a TV
- It doesn't come with the use of a microwave or fridge
- You can't use pretty much ANYTHING in the kitchen
- Your stay at The Empress Estate mansion comes with live-in Airbnb hosts, named in the reviews as "The Innkeepers"
- You are not allowed to have any parties in the mansion or on the property, so there's that. (There goes my plan to rent it out to make my own music videos, ha, just kidding!)
- According to other negative Airbnb reviews, this gorgeous estate doesn't come with any working WiFi, although it says it does in the description
THERE IS AN ALLEGED CHAIN-SMOKER ON THE PREMISES AND HARD-TO-REACH HOSTS
One reviewer complained about a "chain-smoking" lady (one of the hosts) who stayed up all night in the backyard. Many other complaints griped about the difficulty reaching the host with questions both before and during their stay at the mansion.
THERE ARE PLENTY OF RAVING REVIEWS THOUGH
There are plenty of raving reviews for the $1,990/night manor, too, don't get it twisted! Jeremy from Denver, CO, described The Empress as a "fairy tale castle", and Cykhyia from Portland exclaims there are "breathtaking views from Honeymoon Suite." This makes the mansion sound very dreamy. I personally would love to stay here, if not for the ambiance alone!

Feast your eyes on this! The Empress Estate is located in Woodland, Washington, near Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR. It is going for $1,990 a night on Airbnb from a host named Zoe.
This bedroom has a gaudy headboard and coordinating dresser. I wonder where they found these pieces and if they are authentic to the time period or bought at an estate sale? I love the eggshell-colored walls because it makes the space seem brighter and bigger in pictures. Need two rooms with "ornate French Provincial furnishings" and enough space to sleep up to four (4) people on pillow-top beds? Wait, did you also need to have your own "jetted tub"? This is your room, then. You and your guests can pillow fight over who gets to sleep in the King bed, whilst the rest of you peasants (hee, hee) can sleep in the Twin trundle.
Feel like you've been whisked away to the time of Jane Eyre or The Little Women! Stay in this room at The Empress Suite and you are bound to emerge from your room speaking with either a cockney accent or one reminiscent of those fellers on PBS Masterpiece Theater. Do you need a luxury stay that gives you a chance to catch up on a good book? This particular room in The Empress Estate mansion has a trundle bed. You and your guest can pull out the twin beds and hit the sack.
Go do your "number two" in a bathroom draped in blue, the color of peace and tranquility. Ahh, relaxing.
This is a of the bathroom in the Moonridge Suite. It's not decadent but it is suitable. I mean, you've got your bathtub, you've got your towels, you've got your toilet, you've got your toilet paper...
If you are looking for something romantic like, say for a honeymoon or couples retreat, you will want to stay in The Moonridge Suite. It comes with some extra privacy amenities including not one, but two private balconies. You'll also get your own private bathroom that is described as "luxurious". (You can be the judge of that.)
Is a double-sized bed considered a Full or a Queen bed? You can figure it out when you rent this room. It boasts its own bathroom and a walk-in closet that is described as large. Do you need a luxury stay that gives you a chance to catch up on a good book?
Looking for something more cozy to sleep in The Empress Estate? Try the "Cozy Suite". You can't go wrong with opulence with a side of coziness. There is a King bed, a French door, and alleged spectacular views from your room and balcony.
Well, well, what have we here? A great place to spot a chain-smoking lady in the backyard! Looks like a great spot to unwind at the end of a long day filled with roaming through the mansion or visiting the nearby shops and restaurants since you don't have use of the kitchen.
Here we see yet another splendid place to enjoy some chain-smoking with the innkeepers, if you dare!
