Eastern Washington Commuter Greeted with Four-Legged Friends on Freeway
Whenever I'm driving anywhere, especially in Washington, I'm so much of a 'ooh, look at the deer!' kind of person. Deer, elk, goats, cows -- any living creature I point it out to whoever is in the car with me so we can both be excited to see a thing.
That's right, I'm easily amused and I don't apologize for it.
I was browsing the Washington subreddit today when someone posted this video of some visitors holding up a bit of traffic near Wenatchee.
Nice to see a few animals crossing the road safely. I love that the elk with the antlers seemed like they were waiting for the others to cross first before crossing himself before majestically leaping over the fence. The fence jump was my favorite part.
They go by the username justpickituppleasee and they mentioned it was south Malaga in central Washington state.
This is pretty common in Washington state as you'd imagine but always so cool to see when it does happen from someone else's viewpoint.
Especially when it comes to those long road trips between Yakima and Spokane or even between Pasco and Ritzville which always seems to have wildlife crossing the road where ever they feel like it. I mean, why can't they just cross at those elk crossing signs?
That was a joke, of course.
Though, when I was a child, I used to think that was intended for deer and elk to cross at that specific location.
