Pssh! This ‘Finest Steakhouse in Washington’ Pick is Full of Bull
I'm a sucker for any of those 'best in each state' lists. One popped up for finest steakhouse in each state from MSN and, like most, I was curious to know what steakhouse they were talking about. Maybe it was our own Yakima Steak Company or perhaps some nice place on the Columbia River in Tri-Cities. Spokane has a few nice places as well. I mean, naturally, since we raise cattle on the eastern side of Washington State, it only makes sense that the best steakhouse would also be in Eastern Washington.
And, wouldn't you know it, it wasn't.
At least, that is according to this broken list.
They awarded the finest steakhouse to The Metropolitan Grill in Seattle.
Why does Seattle have to have all the glory? I'm sure The Met is great and all. In fact, let's look at the menu together.
Here is their filet mignon.
Where's the rest of it?
I mean, yeah, it looks great and I'm sure it tastes great, too, but at $74 for 8oz or $89 for 13oz you've really gotta be impressing someone to splurge on that.
This is also the type of place where you're spending about $20 on appetizers.
And they don't even have mozzarella sticks on the appetizer menu? C'mon now.
The Met is located in downtown Seattle so it's definitely a date night or even 'drop to your knee' type of restaurant. I mean, after spending that much on dinner, she may be more inclined to say, "Yes," but that's also never a guarantee.
To visit this place you probably need to wear pants so, for that, I'm out. And drive in Seattle traffic? No thanks. We have amazing steak right here in the Yakima Valley. Y'know, where the steak in Seattle is probably coming from.
