We have a lot of options to buy meat, especially here in Central Washington.

The meat department at your neighborhood grocery store is always a convenient option, but which ones are the higher quality?

Food website Chowhound made a list of the grocery stores with the highest quality meat departments.

Some aren't so surprising but there's a couple on this list that may surprise you.

The experts say Costco is known for having a high quality meat department. From rotisserie chickens to go to getting prime cuts of steak, Costco will take care of you.

Chowhound goes on to mention that, at times, the quality comes with a premium. Sometimes even standard cuts can seem a little overpriced but you'll get the quality and trust that comes with it so maybe it's worth it.

A few other stores on this list are places we don't have in our area. Places like Publix (known for their amazing sandwiches), Whole Foods, Central Market, The Fresh Market, Sprouts, Winn-Dixie, BJs Wholesale, Aldi, Wegman's, and McCaffrey's Food Market.

I've heard of a few and even visited a Publix when I was in Florida. It reminded me of just about any other grocery store like a Rosauers or a Yoke's from Tri-Cities.

The one that was a little surprising to see on this list was Walmart.
