I was out and about, ordering another pizza birria at Don Cheo's when I noticed a couple behind me ready to place their order as well. As I was waiting I overhead the guy mention, as if he was talking to a child, that it was a little warm outside. Only, I didn't notice a child outside, just the two people. That's when I noticed he had a bird on his shoulder. He said they were very well trained and prompted the bird to step onto my finger. That's when I took the photo.

As it turns out, this couple tames these birds and also rescues them for taming and helping them find new forever homes. I thought it was neat so I thought I'd bring it up.

You can find more information and message them via their Facebook page BoSSSSBirds. They're based right here in Yakima.

I've heard of people in town doing this for dogs and cats but not these birds.

Not only to tame but they also teach training and care for these birds and make sure you have everything you need to keep them in your care.

These green birds that you may have seen before are called Green Cheek Conure. And, if you're curious, yes, the Green Cheek Conure can talk.

This isn't sponsored or endorsed and I'm sure we have pet stores in town that also has these birds for sale but I just thought it was neat that these people just bring them out of the house every so often. I'm sure kids love seeing these up close and learn that they're not scary or anything.
