It’s Election Day, But Less Than 20 Percent of Yakima Is Voting — Shame, Shame
Today is Election Day, and if you have not voted or don't plan to, I am going to give you a big frown just like your grandmother would probably do. Reports are coming in that only 17% of registered voters have turned in their ballots so far. Boooooo! *hiss*
Here are three things Grandma would probably tell you:
- Voting is your civic duty.
- People have died for your right to vote.
- You cannot rightfully complain about the outcomes if you didn't actually vote yourself.
The Yakima Herald-Republic had a better explanation of the voting issues in the Yakima Valley when it said:
Hop to it, you have until 8 p.m. to turn in your ballot!
