Over 2,000 Air Rifles Recalled Due To Injury Hazard. Sold In WA, CA, OR

Can you imagine this happening during the holiday film A Christmas Story!?!?

Ralphie opens up the last present, the Red Ryder carbine-action, 200-shot range model air rifle!

But once he sits it down, it falls over and accidentally discharges!

Did he shoot his eye out, or was it the gun’s fault? There is no icicle to blame here; in this situation and this current recall, it’d be an issue with the gun.

On April 25th, Crosman Corp. issued a recall for two of their air rifles, due to unexpected discharging if the rifle is dropped or jostled, even if it is uncocked.

The two air rifles involved in this recall are the Crosman Icon .177 and the .22 Caliber Air Rifles.

Rifles are PCP-Powered and Bolt-Actioned air rifles. Model numbers are CPI77S and CPI22S.

Make and model numbers are printed on the sides of the rifle.

So far (as of this writing), there has been only one “unintended discharge” report, and luckily, no injuries have been reported.

The air rifle was sold at Do It Best Hardware, True Value, & Sportsman’s Guide stores and online in Washington, Oregon, and California (among other states).

If you have purchased the recalled air rifles, you are advised to stop using it immediately and contact Crosman to receive a refund (store credit or check) when the recalled item is returned.
