Colt Ford has spoken publicly for the first time since he suffered a near-fatal heart attack on April 4, 2024, revealing that he flatlined multiple times.

In his first interview post heart-attack, Ford spoke to the Big D & Bubba radio show from his hospital bed. The singer revealed exactly what happened on the night that he was rushed to the hospital after his heart attack.

Ford was on his tour bus at a concert venue after playing to a sold-out audience in Gilbert, Ariz., when his heart attack struck. He had gotten onto his bus and texted his fiancée, "Hi, baby," when he fell over onto the floor.

Ford says that is all that he remembers until he woke up in a hospital bed surrounded by his fiancée and his son. They then filled Ford in with all of the details of what had happened.

"I died two times," Ford reveals. He explains that he was clinically dead on his tour bus when he was revived by emergency personnel. His close friend Brantley Gilbert was there as well and made sure he was rushed to the hospital.

Once Ford arrived at the hospital, they did not have the exact things Ford needed to survive, essentially. Ford says that Gilbert told doctors, "I don't care what you got to do, get him to the other hospital, ASAP."

"I had so much trauma in my body and my heart, I had to have three stents put in," Ford shares.

Ford reveals that he died again on the way to the other hospital, and he had to be revived for a second time on the way there.

"They brought me back, they saved my life. The Lord had more for me to do. I have more music to make, and hopefully some more differences to make in people's life."

Big D and Bubba told Ford that they have been texting with Gilbert this whole time, and Gilbert has been updating them on his progress.

As for what the future holds for Ford, he says he was in the middle of making a new album, and he plans on finishing that up as soon as possible once he is feeling better.

Ford has canceled all of his tour dates through August as he recuperates from his heart attack.
