I have been waiting for this since the NFL announced it a few months ago – when do my beloved San Francisco 49ers, play the Seattle Seahawks? Turns out, it’s this Sunday.

The 49ers are 4-3 for the season. The Seahawks are 5-1. Both teams are pretty evenly matched. This should prove to be another great NFL Sunday.

My co-host Brian Stephenson, a life-long Seahawks fan, has made a prediction on the game - you can read that here.

We had a pretty “spirited” discussion this on Friday morning. Brian claims the 'Hawks will win it. As a life-long 49ers fan, I think he is being a tad bit optimistic and believe the Niners have a good shot. So on-air on Friday morning, Brian asked me if I “cared to make a wager?” Heh heh – I ain’t scurd.

To make things interesting, we are going beyond a typical, boring money wager. No, we are betting our dignity. Far more costly than any monetary commitment. No, come next week, one of us, will have to face our greatest fear. So, what does that look like?

I don’t fear much. I really only have one – and that’s my fear of scorpions.

I loathe them. Hate ‘em (and I rarely use that word). They disgust me. They are shiny, ugly, hideous creatures, straight from the bowels of hell itself. In fact I loathe them so much, I can’t even post a pic, so you will just have to imagine the horror that is the scorpion. Ick.

So if the Seahawks win on Sunday, sometime next week, I will be in the presence of two scorpions in a cage, in the studio while on-air. Just the idea of it makes my skin crawl.

Now, the better outcome for me, is WHEN the 49ers win. Brian, a man who also holds very few fears, will have to place himself into his own personal hell for 2 full hours. The single one thing he dreads the most – reality TV. Not just reality TV, the cheesiest excuse for a reality show in the known universe.

Yes, my friends, WHEN the 49ers triumph over the Seahawks this Sunday, Brian Stephenson will have to watch and report on a full 2-hour episode of, The Bachelorette.

Heh heh.

Needless to say, I will be watching the game closely as it will determine one of our fates for what is sure to be a miserable experience for one, and the other witnessing and enjoying the misery of the other.

All the respect in the world for the Seahawks, but if anyone from the 49ers are reading this, I beg you, plead with you – please win. I really hate scorpions.
