TikTok/YouTuber ‘Kallmekris’ Was in Yakima and Didn’t Tell Anybody
Yakima, be nature of being what it is, not as uptown as Seattle, not as weird as Portland, not as collegiate as Spokane, but it's -- well, it's Yakima.
It is what it is. And that is whatever you make it out to be.
Anytime Yakima is mentioned on TV or movies like iCarly or True Blood or that Selena documentary or anything else, really, everyone's a buzz about it in town as Yakima, though not as unpopular as you think, it's just not a town that gets talked about as often in Washington State.
There's a TikTok/YouTuber named Kallmekris that my kids adore. She does quick skits and vlogs. One of Canada's most popular TikTok creators and her YouTube channel has over 10 million subscribers so she's doing pretty good for herself.
In a recent video, it seems she's relocating from Canada to Texas by nature of a good ol' fashioned road trip.
5:30 into her video she made a stop at a rest area that may look a little familiar. She pointed to the town in the background and said it was Yakima.
I may be backwards but looking at the landmarks, and hate to correct her, but it looks like she's at that rest area by the Fred G. Redmon Memorial Bridge when heading back just before Selah. When the points out the town of Yakima, I'm pretty sure she's pointing to Selah.
eh, close enough.
Still, very cool that she stopped and gave it a shout out. Yakima always needs all the love it can get.

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here.
