We had some family over from out of town who rarely make it into town over the weekend. Eventually, like any good conversation, the talks usually turn to food and what restaurants we have available for something to eat and maybe grab a drink as well.

We were also talking about traveling a little and that's when the two combined into talking about Irish pubs.

McGuire's Irish Restaurant and Pub came into conversation and, thus, it was decided that it was a place we needed to visit immediately.

Though I've eating food from McGuire's often, admittedly, I think I've only sat to eat here one other time as I'd usually just get food to go. It was nice to be able to sit and enjoy the cozy atmosphere.

I went straight for the Irish part of the menu and saw a dish I hadn't seen before. Jeanne's Chicken Dinner. It was chicken on a bed of mashed potatoes, cabbage, a cream sauce, and some other ingredients. I think there was some bacon in this as well. I just saw it involved chicken and that was good enough for me. And it was something new to try.

I'm glad I did.

It was perfect under all circumstances.

I love dishes like this where I also don't need to worry about cutting with a knife. Not that I can't cut my own meat or anything, but it makes it easier when I don't have to.

Perfect flavor, perfect texture (and I'm big into texture), I can't wait to order it again in the near future.

This also came with a salad and soda bread. I love their soda bread. I always order extra.

This dish is on their main menu and available for dinner. Follow their Facebook for daily specials.
