Mark your calendar for Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022! Across the country, everyone will be celebrating National Night Out and I've got the first details for Yakima, WA!

What is National Night Out?

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

I Thought I Was in Trouble!

Yesterday I received a phone call from Officer Amy of the Yakima Police Department and for a split second, I got scared. Not that I have done anything wrong, but I'm not going to lie when I heard her introduce herself my mind started racing. What did I do? Oh, no! She caught me....more like she talked me into helping host National Night Out in Yakima!

Yakima's National Night Out

In past years, National Night Out events in Yakima have been spread throughout the community and the Yakima Police Department would try to attend each one. This year they have decided that it will be held in one central location. Miller Park to be exact, located at 513 N 3rd St, Yakima, WA 98901. This free event for the entire community will be from 5 pm - 7 pm so help us spread the word and tell all your friends and family so they can tell theirs and so on!

Calling All Local Businesses

Everything at this event will be free, including food, games, and more. Would you like to have a booth? Awesome! Please contact Officer Amy at 509-576-6522, to get all set up. Nothing is to be sold at this event. This is just a fun night for the community to come on out and enjoy each other! More details to come, just wanted you to know that planning is in the works!
