Washington State, though it seems one of the more safe states, still has wild fires, the occasional earthquake and even the rare occurrence of a volcanic eruption. With a fault line that goes right over Seattle, it seems like a 'when, not if' scenario of something bad happening sometime.

I hate to the fear of doom in your gut, but these things can happen. And when they do, you need to be notified, like, right now. Not next time you check Facebook, not from your kid who calls to tell you something you missed, you need to know immediately.

What sounds like a dystopian future where everything we've relied so heavy on for over a century, primarily our phones being the last couple decades, is that they're going to be out of our control coming up on October 4th. At least they had the decency to tell us in advance!

US FEMA Alert on Oct. 4, 2023

On October 4th FCC are doing a test of the emergency service. You know that tone. It always comes up right in the middle of the chorus of your favorite song.

“This is a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System, issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, covering the United States from 14:20 to 14:50 hours ET. This is only a test. No action is required by the public."

The only thing is this is not just a test, this is quite possibly the biggest test they've done.

This will go over all phones, tv and radio on October 4th slated at 11:20 a.m. PST (2:20 p.m. Eastern)

It'll only last about a minute and we can be on with our day.

Just letting you know in advance.
