Do you have any pet peeves? Something that just drives you crazy when somebody does something that you find irritating or makes your eyes roll? Yeah, me too.

That's why I thought telling on myself might be a kind of penance. First, I'll tell you that it sometimes drives me nuts when people are compelled to photograph their food - and post online. I know, not a big deal, and why should that bother me anyway? But, I'm like, okay, you ordered a bowl of spaghetti and there's some nice looking meatballs. Cool. But if I needed to gaze upon a plate of pasta, I'd subscribe to the Chef Boyardee newsletter.

Now, for the telling on myself. Looking through the pictures on my phone today, I noticed that I too had photographed food items, for no apparent reason. While I don't remember posting any online - I likely did at least text them to someone to say 'Look, I made soup and I didn't burn the house down'.

Some of these I don't even remember, but just to be right with the cosmos, I'm not only going to offer a group apology if I've ever harbored ill-feelings toward a food photo poster, I'm going to post this strange consortium of pics which I've taken, for no darn good reason.

That's a SMOKED PORK BUTT. I don't know why I took the picture. No excuses.

I do recall why I took this picture. It's because this unidentifiable piece of 'chicken' shocked my wife and me. That's a full-size dinner plate. That's not a leg, not a wing and I couldn't rule out rat. We didn't eat it of course. We just marveled at it. Named it.

Another random picture was this failed attempt at melting chocolate in a double-boiler. A teenager was involved. The job involved instructions. Mmmmkay.

I truly do not remember taking this picture either. It's from 4 years ago. I don't even know if I was the offending 'chef'.

Good heavens! I'm puzzled at this one too! As far as I can tell, this was a bizarre attempt at a deviled egg/guacamole concoction. Zero points for presentation!

This was a soup I made in my INSTANT POT when I first got it. It was good as I recall, but I'm still guilty of taking a picture of it.

INSTANT POT STEW/SOUP again. Oh, this is painful reflection.

Easter a few years ago and lamb on the spit. A Greek tradition. Weird to photograph.

There you have it. Confession is good for the soul. I'm promising to stop being irritated when I see people post goofy pictures online - since I'm now guilty of the same thing.

I suggest you go through all of the pictures you have on your phone or in the cloud and see which ones surprise you. You may want to delete them before you lose control and post them.
