Root Beer Beef Sticks, Strawberry Beef Sticks and More at the CWSF
Walking through the Sundome at the Central Washington State Fair you'll find plenty of products. One that was new to me (I don't remember seeing them last year) was this booth selling these extra long pepperoni sticks. Well, I was immediately interested and, upon walking up, even more-so because they had some very unique flavors.
I saw some favorites like teriyaki and bbq. Something like a ghost pepper one that I'm sure tastes great but probably burns both way, if you know what I mean.
Then I noticed something I hadn't seen before. Along with the traditional favorites I saw root beer flavored beef sticks. I also saw strawberry beef sticks. Interesting.
As it turns out, they did have free samples.
The lady behind the counter said the strawberry one was a best seller. I didn't believe her at first but when she mentioned that you don't really taste strawberry, really, you just taste the sweetness much like a Christmas glazed ham or something. That made all the sense in the world to me.
The root beer-flavored ones were interesting. They tasted great but I did get a bit of that root beer aftertaste which was fun and very welcome.
I ended up buying a 4 pack of these as I think they were selling them 4 x $110 (or something like that) as well as some landjaeger as they were also selling. If you're not familiar, landjaeger is like a giant pepperoni stick only it's like sausage. Like a semi-dried sausage which is amazing.
If you have the time, find this booth in the Sundome and check them out. I'm glad I saw them.
