Meat Stick Recall Affects Shoppers in Washington State

Right up front, I want to say how I love that the Florida-based food vendor company, Chomps, took it upon themselves to let customers know that there was a recall on some meat sticks.

This letter was sent letting the public know about the recall instead of hoping to maybe possibly see a story about it in the news.

There's a popular snack at Costco that was recently recalled in 22 states and Washington is on that list, so it's something to be concerned as well as cautious.

What was recalled this time?

The brand is Chomps and they make these meat stick snacks. The Columbia Dispatch is reporting that there was a USDA recall for these meat sticks over possible contamination of pieces of metal.

Naturally, you don't want to consume this.

If you happened to have purchased these recently, they ask you check the UPC 856584004183 and item number to make sure and if it's a match to the ones you have, do not eat - take them back.

This goes for the beef sticks, turkey sticks, beef sticks in an 8-count pouch with UPC 850015892523 and a beef stick in a 12-count pouch with UPC 856584004763.

Along with Washington State these were also sold in Costco locations in Idaho, Oregon, California and other states as well. This product comes from Shelley, Idaho located on the east side of Idaho State (between Idaho Falls and Pocatello). If you have any questions, contact the Chomps people directly.
