The U.S. Marines and the Salvation Army in Yakima are hoping you'll go shopping for a new toy this year to donate to the Marines Toys For Tots program.
In a post on their official Facebook page earlier today, the Salvation Army food bank in downtown Yakima announced that it will be giving away free chicken for anyone that wants to come pick it up.

The caring community of Yakima wants you to ride or drive to benefit the Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, and the YWCA Sunday Yakima Cinema between 11 am - 1:30 pm
It is now 2017! A new year to get things started off right. I suppose I did. I got a lot done at my house that I normally do not have the time to do. Went to the radio station and did a few things and was on the air for awhile. When I got done, I went to Smitty's Log Cabin Café to get gas.
Sunday's (Nov. 6) bike run that kicked off the valley's Toys for Tots 2016 campaign at the Salvation Army was a complete success. We had so many bikes there! People even came in vehicles to make sure that the United States Marine Corps got toys for the kids.
Whoa! Christmas is already on the way! Which means our local Marines are already gearing up for the 100th year of Toys for Tots. We need to help by stocking them up with lots of brand-new toys for needy children in our area.
