The Yakima Humane Society is open for DOG WALKING! We need some volunteers to help us walk our potty trained dogs, and just give them a break from the kennels
If you've noticed, there is trash everywhere. It piles up when people throw their cigarette butts out the window or push all the empty bottles and wrappers out of a car into ditches. Don't even get me started with the discarded needles and random loose shoes...
You want to help support the Yakima Humane Society but are not able to financially? Here are some new free (and fun) ways to help out the pets at the shelter!
I have been so busy being a parent, running errands, working hard, studying for my exams, paying bills, and worrying about this, that and the other, that I have truly forgotten what it feels like to hang out, make new friends and just relax and enjoy being alive.
My family and I have decided that it's time to take action! We have collectively decided that each quarter we are going to volunteer.
Our first family volunteer outing was for Northwest Harvest. Our shift was Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We packed food bags for schoolkids. Jackson, 12, and Shaylee, 11, had a great time! They are already asking when we are going back.
I make lots of jokes that the Junior League Of Yakima should be called the Justice League Of Yakima but I say it with lots of respect.
Junior League does some great work in our valley and you can be a real life super hero by volunteering for their 2nd Annual JLY Empowers event.
