Taste The Local Pride Behind Washington’s Beloved Products
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, and especially Washington State, you'll come across items your entire life that you may not have known are only available in your area.
It's like if you travel to the south or the east coast you'll find items on store shelves that doesn't exist in Washington State.
Just for fun, here are a few items that are from here that will make you say,

Products You Probably Knew Were from Washington
There are several items from Washington that you probably already knew about. Rainier Beer makes sense because, well, Rainier is in the name. Same with Cougar Gold Cheese from our home of the Cougars, Washington State University in Pullman, Washington.
It's also pretty widely known that Jones Soda, known for fun labels and unique flavors of soda, is from Seattle. Only something as interesting as Jones Soda could be from a place like Seattle.
Wait!... These are made in Washington State?
Almond Roca
Almond Roca is from Washington? It turns out that, yes, it is! Tacoma, Washington, to be exact. Growing up you had your traditional chocolate but Almond Roca was the pinnacle of luxury. Each candy wrapped in its own gold foil. You can find them anywhere but they're from right here in Washington.
Mountain Bars
Also from Brown & Haley, makers of Almond Roca, these make sense for Washington as they resemble the mountains in our Cascades. Just a big ol' pile of chocolate with peanut butter, cherry, or vanilla centers. Cherry is great because you can pretend it's lava.
Aplets and Cotlets
A local take on the Turkish Delight, these fruit jelly-like confectionary treats are from Cashmere, Washington. I used to think these were a little too brow for me but the older I got the more I love these. I'm glad we still have these and other varieties available.
Tim's Cascade Chips
These are a favorite of many in Washington State. The problem is, most people outside of the northwest haven't heard of this which hurts my feelings. These are some of my favorite chips. Based in Auburn, Washington, Tim's Cascade have been doing their variety of potato chips for years. Locals will agree they're some of the best.
Oberto Beef Jerky
Believe it or not, Oberto is local to Washington as well. Located in Kent, Washington, you can find Oberto beef jerky in just about every store and gas station. A road trip favorite.
Darigold
The milk you probably drank in school is based out of Seattle, Washington. This does make sense as most regions use the local dairy farms for their milk and milk products.
There's many more as well, but that should get you going when you're at the store and want to shop local.
