Stores closing has been in the news so much it's hardly news anymore. Profits down for any reason and the idea comes about from closing stores either locally or across the nation which, sometimes, include our local stores.

This time it's news from Walgreens with plans to close many stores across the US and even their sister-stores in the UK. Not all of them, but a lot of them.

Walgreens announced 100 store closures but a rep told NBC Chicago it was 150, all closed by August of 2024.

I think many are still anticipating the list to be released on which stores are slated to close. As of now, nothing was listed for any of the Yakima locations which is a good thing.

Although 150 stores is a lot, Walgreens has close to 9,000 locations across the United States. Closing 150 stores isn't even 2% but it's still enough that it could make an impact. Especially if the store that's closing is the one you shop near you.
