Washington State One of the Leading States for Innovation

We have a lot of creative minds here in Washington State. So many things were invented right here in Washington.

Washington is home to sports like Pickleball, medical tech like the kidney dialysis machine as well as modern conveniences like the modern backpack and even bread clips, also called Kwik Lok which was invented right here in Yakima.

Are other states this innovative?

According to financial website Wallet Hub, Washington State is one of the leading states for innovation.

Washington State came in 5th place for most innovative states.

First place was also Washington, but the other Washington. Washington D.C. which they do count as it's own thing.

Massachusetts, California, and Colorado were the other states until it hit Washington.

Along with being 5th over all, here's a few more rankings for Washington State when it comes to innovation.

1st place for R&D spending per capita.
2nd place for share of sciences and engineering graduates ages 25+.
2nd place for share of STEM professionals.
7th place for venture-capital funding per capita.
12th place for share of technology companies.
17th place for projected STEM-job demand by 2030.
22nd place for eighth-grade math and science performance.

The worst five states, the states that are the least innovative are Mississippi coming in dead last, followed by Louisiana, West Virginia, North Dakota, and Arkansas.
