There's a lot that can play into the average intelligence of the common folk walking around today.

From education to how we get our education, through process of elimination, some states are, let's be honest, just more educated than others.

You figure Washington State not only has some great colleges but also has some pretty rich and powerful people living here from smart things like computers and all that. You'd think Washington would be pretty high on the list for most educational states and, sure enough, you'd be right.

8th place for average university quality.
10th place for racial gap in educational attainment.
