Everyone has their preference on what makes the best steak. Some like it medium, some prefer to brine theirs, some like theirs sliced thin into a salad for some reason. There are even (sorry for what I'm about to say) those who enjoy their steak well done. Well, either way, there are plenty ways to order and enjoy your steak.

We decided to go out to eat not too long ago. We were in Spokane at the time so it's not like we had much of a choice. We decided on Chili's because it's something we don't have in Yakima and my kids, thanks to TikTok, like going there in hopes they stay the welcoming phrase, "Hi, welcome to Chili's." Yeah, I don't get it either but it makes them chuckle.

I mostly just make steak at home but sometimes it's nice when someone prepares it for you. My wife decided to order a steak and asked for it to be prepared medium-well. Mostly cooked but not all the way cooked. Not how I would have ordered it, but I wasn't the one ordering it. When it arrived, it looked like this.

Gotta ask. Is this medium-well or well done?

As the old joke goes, "This is beyond well done, this is congratulations!"

I tried a bite and, though it tasted fine, it was pretty tough to chew.

We didn't send it back, we ended up eating most of it and everyone enjoyed themselves. We'll be back for sure as my kids love Chili's (wish we had one in Yakima) but still.

Me? I just ordered the appetizer platter. Nothing fancy.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
