Yakima Airport Providing Free Parking While They Update Parking Lot
Flying out of Yakima's airport is something I do a few times a year as I love to travel. Sometimes I get dropped off and sometimes, out of convenience, I just park at the airport and pay the 10 a day parking. It's not too bad and worth it for me to have my own ride right when I get off the plane.
They've had a few different parking services over the years as far back as having someone literally in the toll booth but have also had a pay for parking online service as well as one where you at a ticket kiosk outside and leave your stub in your car.
There are others who just park and pay the ticket attached to the windshield when they get back. Nothing wrong with that.
Well, they're updating how to pay at the YKM parking lot and, in the meantime, to avoid confusion, they're just letting you park there for free. Not bad!
As it says:
YKM is upgrading its paid parking lot tech. That work should be done later this year.
Until then, enjoy FREE parking in the YKM main terminal lot, whether you'll be gone a day, a week, or more.

This is great news as I have a couple of flights out of YKM in the next few months so this will definitely come in handy.
Now here's hoping they get another flight option so we're not flying out in the afternoon. They're working on it.
