Yakima Fireworks! Toppenish Rodeo! What’s on Tap for Fun in July?
After missing out on so much of what we love to do in our community during the pandemic, it's great to see some very important Yakima Valley events coming back! Everybody is excited about The Central Washington State Fair which is just three months away! The Fresh Hop Ale Festival is coming to SOZO the first weekend in October!
One of the events, which so many of us look forward to each year, is the 4th of July festivities at State Fair Park. Well, it's coming back in a big way this year and there's so much fun to be had, it's going to take THREE FULL DAYS of fabulous fun to enjoy it all!
4th of July Events at State Fair Park, July 2nd, 3rd & 4th.
Big thanks to the management and staff at State Fair Park and some community-minded businesses that stepped up in support of this year's celebrations, the fun kicks of on Friday, July 2nd from 2 pm until 10 pm and continues Saturday, July 3rd from Noon until 10 pm and Sunday, July 4th from Noon until 10 pm, culminating with the largest fireworks show in the Valley.
Organizers say there will be plenty to do for the whole family, with a carnival all three days, games, kids events, a beer garden, and numerous food vendors. Also, a very entertaining musical event makes its return as Yakima Federal Savings & Loan presents the Yakima APPLE JAM Allstars - starting at 5 pm Sunday. The parking is free and the admission is free as well.
Toppenish Rodeo - July 2nd & 3rd
If rodeo is your jam, The Toppenish Rodeo is happening on Friday and Saturday, July 2nd and 3rd at the Toppenish Rodeo Grounds. This PRCA Rodeo event is a must for rodeo fans. If you have out-of-town guests joining you, be sure to take the time to tour the 'City of Murals' and take in all the sights and sounds.
Summer Outdoor Grilling
There will be plenty of grills fired up for the 4th of July holiday weekend, which some people are extending into Monday the 5th since the 4th is on Sunday this year. Whether you're into steaks or seafood, chicken or pulled pork, you can never go wrong with an expertly prepared burger. Here's a fantastic recipe I've personally tried that you'll love:
