Yakima Is Expected To Get A Bit of SNOW This Week
We might see some more snow in Yakima this week!
Time to get out the hand warmers again, but we might not need the snow shovels this time.
That reminds me, I cannot remember where I put my gloves and I have misplaced my cute snow hat. If you're headed outside this Sunday, you might want to layer up on the clothes and put on a thicker coat.
Weather.com says this Thursday and Friday it will be cloudy with a slight chance for snow. The mountain passes were scary last weekend but the weather report doesn't look like it's going to be snowing on Snoqualmie. It will definitely be snowing on White Pass this week and on into the weekend, so if you want to hit the slopes, head there! Easton is expected to see some snow on Thursday and Friday, too, so if you're heading to the Westside, watch out for the snowflakes!
According to Google, typically, the snow comes in October. Google also says that the average snowfall in Yakima is about 18 inches per year, so looks like we'll be starting off 2021 getting a bit of the white stuff.
You can get some snow melt salt at Home Depot, Lowes, or any auto parts store. I bet you could proably even order it on Instacart, if you don't feel like getting out of the house and driving.
Speaking of driving, if you just moved here, know that it can get pretty dicey on these Yakima streets during the snow. If the temperatures dip down to the 20s and 30s, as predicted by the National Weather Service, then roads will be very slick. Make sure your breaks are good!
We already know people don't know how to drive during normal weather conditions, so driving around with icy streets is going to be a doozy. Don't do it unless you absolutely have to!

Be careful out there driving this week and bundle up! Hopefully, there will be enough snow for a snowball fight!
