The National Weather Service just put out an announcement that there are high expectationas of thunderstorms in several areas including Yakima and most of the Yakima Valley.

There is a severe thunderstorm watch between now and midnight in several counties.

    If you're in any of those towns, get ready for a light show, but also be safe.

    These severe thunderstorms may bring heavy, focused rain in some areas, frequent lightning, possible hail, and gusty winds of upto 70 miles an hour.

    Some areas of the highway may have limited ability due to the blowing winds as they may bring up dust as well. If you're on the highway roads, be extra careful.

    You may notice your windows rattling. You may notice your power flickering.

    Fortunately, they're only expecting this severe thunderstorm warning until midnight.

    The weather for Yakima is expected to be upper 60s, around 70, for Friday with clouds. Then some sunshine on Saturday with more clouds on Sunday with temperatures in the low to mid 70s throughout the weekend.
