These photos were shared by Kathy Willis in the Vintage Yakima Facebook page where people share photos they have of Yakima during a different time.

You'll often get photos from Yakima from back in the day. Some great downtown shots, some aerial views of various intersections to see how much they've changed, but sometimes they'll also share artifacts from Yakima's history.

Many people in the comments were sharing their original phone numbers from back in these days as well. It's fun to see.

Interesting to note that phone numbers weren't the traditional 7 digit number or even include an area code. many are just 4-digit numbers. Sometimes with an extra digit as Yakima started growing.

This phonebook is a piece of Yakima's past

Kids today would have their mind blown knowing that not only did a phone book feature everyone's phone number for you to look up, but also their home address. No way would people want to be a part of this now.

Phone books were always an exciting time. Not just to look up your own name (or your parents in many cases) but also the directory of businesses.
