Downtown Summer Nights

We promise: It won't rain this week! Get ready for a perfect evening this Thursday (July 14) when the Robbie Walden Band, plus Slings and Arrows, perform at Downtown Summer Nights on North Front Street. The Robbie Walden Band hails from the west side, but they've played Yakima before -- they were at DSN just last summer...

Baseball has rainouts. And sometimes, so do concerts. For the first time in anybody's memory, Downtown Summer Nights had to fold up its tents, unplug the electronic equipment and let Mother Nature take center stage as a summer squall settled in and shut down Thursday night's show on North Front Street.

This Thursday, July 7, will be another great day for a live, free concert on Front street in Yakima as Polyrhythmics perform at Downtown Summer Nights.

Kick back with a cold beverage and enjoy Yakima favorite Blake Noble (and some special friends) -- along with Yakima's own Indigo Kidd -- at this week's (June 30) Downtown Summer Nights concert on historic Front Street. As usual, a range of on-site vendors and restaurants will have excellent food and drinks starting at 5:30 p.m.

Funny how the weather always seems to straighten out juuuust in time for Downtown Summer Nights each week, isn't it? Fine. We'll take it. Obviously someone well beyond us is a fan ... And speaking of fans, what a great crowd this week...

It's only our second week in our new North Front Street location for Downtown Summer Nights, but with more room, more vendors and more people, we're figuring the rest of this summer will be more fun than ever. So make yourself at home Thursday (June 23) from 5:30-9 p.m. and enjoy this week's two musical guests: Yakima's Sophia Tilley and the Olson Bros Band.

Here we go! Starting this week, another season of Downtown Summer Nights is set to fill your Thursday evenings with music and laughter all summer! The food will be excellent and so will the drinks! It all starts again this Thursday (June 16) from 5:30-9 p.m. at our new location -- Front Street.

It might not seem like it just yet, but it won't be long until we'll all be chilling on another one of those Downtown Summer Nights that help make Yakima such a great place to be. And this year, the annual summerlong event will be even better -- it's moving to Front Street!

The folks at RoadSnacks.net have done the heavy lifting and, surely to the surprise of some, have determined that the city of Yakima is not one of the 10 most dangerous cities in Washington to reside in.

You could feel it Thursday night along Fourth Street, blowing gently down Yakima Avenue and breezing east toward Terrace Heights: Summer isn't over, but its days are numbered. Time to fold up the tents on another year of Downtown Summer Nights...

The last Downtown Summer Nights of the season is this Thursday (Aug. 20) and you shouldn't miss it! The headlining band is amazing! Blake Noble and he has some surprises for you. Like, a didgeridoo! What the heck is that?
