I went through the citizenship process a few years ago, and I gotta say it was exhausting. Luckily, I had the means and ability to get through the process on my own, but had I needed the help, I would've really appreciated having someone there to extend a helping hand. Thankfully in our community, those resources exist.

If you or someone you know is on the pathway to citizenship, you could get some help preparing for the exam. The Rural Community Development Resources organization will be hosting a 10-week class to prepare immigrants for their citizenship exam later this month and registration for the class is now open. The course will be offered in both English AND Spanish. The Spanish course will be held every Tuesday beginning on March 27 at 5:30 p.m. The English course will be held every Thursday starting March 29 at 5:30 p.m.

The classes are being "offered through RCDR’s Academia America division" at 22 S. Third Ave. in Yakima. If you're interested in registering for the course, call 509-895-7000. The fee is $150, but if you qualify as low-income, the cost is only $75.
