It's cliché day! What is a cliché? It's a phrase or opinion that is overused and betrays a lack of original thought.

What are some of your favorite clichés -- or maybe even ones you hear us use on the radio?

Here are a few of my all-time favorite clichés:

1.) All in a day's work. No kidding? Of course it's all in a day's work
2.) He can't hold a candle to me! Really, what does that even mean?
3.) Come hell or high water. I'm out if either of those things happen
4.) Keep your powder dry. Are you trying to say don't commit until you're ready?
5.) Same bat time, same bat channel. Just say I'll see you at the same time and place

Rik's Radio Clichés:
"Get your thinking cap on" before he asks the trivia question
"Great job on that" when a listener wins a contest
Rik addresses all guys with "Hey, buddy"
When he is guilty of something or doesn't want to answer the question he says "What?"
"We are gonna start your day" when he talks early in the morning

Michele's Radio Clichés:
"It's your girl Michele Mathews here"
"I've got my warm coffee this morning"

Cefus' Radio Clichés:
"It's Cefus with ya"
"We've got a lot going on down here" when we really don't
"Don't touch that dial" We haven't had dials on most radios in how long?
