Apparently, upside-down Christmas trees are trending this year. It seemed stupid at first... an upside-down Christmas tree?! But the more you think about it, it KINDA makes sense if you have very little space for a tree.
My next-door neighbors still have their Christmas decorations up, and as far as I'm concerned, they are 363 days early! Just joking! However, when Christmas is over, it's over.
Every single year of my life I have always gotten a fruit cake gift. I take a quick bite so I do not make the person feel bad. Then I set it aside. The next day I look at the fruit cake and it is as hard as the floor. There it is. The hard fruit cake that isn't going to be eaten. It has to have some purpose. I went to a Historic Front Street Association meeting the other day at North Town Coffeehouse. Front Street is the setting for our Downtown Summer Nights concert series, and I always love going there. It reminds me of when I was a kiddo and my mom and dad and I used to visit faraway places by taking the train.
Always an excellent time with the United States Marine Corps! Toys R Us donated a ton of money to go shopping for the USMC's Toys for Tots program! Each one of us took age groups for boys or girls. I got the 3-5 little girls and 7-9 boys! The boys got a lot of "Star Wars" stuff. Then, we decided that those little girls needed Barbies and fun little jellies to dress up in!
