Does Hunger Games Live upto the Hype? [Movie Review]

All I kept hearing last week was how much I needed to see Hunger Games. It was all over Facebook, Twitter, and every other water cooler discussion page. I gave in last Saturday and saw the Hunger Games film. I'll have to admit that it's not a movie I would have gone out of my way to see, but my curiosity won over and I made some time to enjoy a newer flick.

What are "Hunger Games?"

My brother in-law has it for his Facebook profile pic, a lot of my friends are talking about it like it’s the greatest movie since Star Wars and I still know very little about it. The Harrison Ford/Daniel Craig sci-fi vehicle ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ tied with ‘The Smurfs’ for first place at the box office, with each taking in $36.2 million in their debut weekend.

The blockbuster ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2′ dropped to fourth, earning a total of $318.4 million in the three weeks since its release, while ‘Friends with Benefits,’ ‘Horrible Bosses,’ and ‘Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon’ dropped out of the top five.

Jeff Conaway Star of "Grease" – Dead At 60

'Grease' and 'Taxi' star Jeff Conaway died Friday after falling into a coma two weeks ago, TMZ is reporting. He was 60.

Conaway was known for his role as Kenickie in the 1978 movie-musical 'Grease.' From 1978-1981, he also played Bobby Wheeler on the sitcom 'Taxi,' earning a Golden Globe nomination along the way before leaving the series after its third season.

It looks like it's going to be an exciting weekend for three new movies opening today. There's a lot of variety and almost something for everyone. It's hard to say which film will take the top spot at the box office, as the popular 'Scream' franchise returns with its fourth installment against the animated feature 'Rio,' which looks like it could appeal to kids and adults. Also opening: the Robert Redford-directed historical drama 'The Conspirator.'
