After all the turnover season 39 of 'SNL' brought to the cast, between Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis and Seth Meyers departing, as well as controversial additions like that of Sasheer Zamata, the 40th anniversary season of the long-running NBC sketch comedy was expected to bring with it a few changes. Now, the first of the season 39 freshmen have been cut, as cast member Brooks Wheelan announces he won't return this fall.

Tracy Morgan ('30 Rock,' 'Saturday Night Live') is in critical condition after a six-vehicle accident on the New Jersey Turnpike early Saturday morning. Morgan had been riding in a limo bus from Dover, Delaware where he performed Friday night.

The sweeping changes to the late night landscape have only recently begun, with Jay Leno having said his goodbyes to 'The Tonight Show,' with Jimmy Fallon soon to take his place. 'SNL' digital shorts are often at their best when they simply throw any and all realism to the wind and embrace complete and total absurdism. Last night's episode featured one of the show's strangest sketches ever, a bit that felt radically different than just about everything else in the episode.

You've got to love it when 'SNL' forces its major movie star guest hosts to do really, really silly stuff and you honestly don't get much sillier than Bruce Willis playing a centaur. The only thing you can complain about here is that Willis is playing a guy playing centaur instead of a real centaur, but that may have been just a little too much perfect for a single sketch.

Just when you thought 'SNL' couldn't have put that Lindsay Lohan rumor to bed any harder, the first three episodes of the 2013-14 season will blow the lid off '30 Rock' altogether. Alumni Tina Fey will host the September 28 'SNL' premiere, with the weeks that follow to include the likes of twerqueen Miley Cyrus, Bruce Willis, and even a returning Katy Perry!
