FDA Issues Recall on National Box of Chocolates Due to Allergic Reactions

The FDA just issued a recall on a national chain of chocolates that you may see on store shelves in that section with others boxes of chocolates for any time of year. The reason being a mislabel was used where people thought they were getting chocolate covered cherries but, instead, are getting something with almonds so those with almond allergies should be very aware.

It does say the Sea Salt Almond Alligators on the front of the box, but the back label has it listed for chocolate covered cherries.

Because the back of the label is chocolate covered cherries, it doesn't list the nut allergy warning that would be needed for something containing almonds like these do so they're asking to return them and not to eat them.

Since they contain almonds, they legally need to have that warning.

Abdallah Candies have been around for over 100 years and have quite a following on a national level. I don't see them nearly as often in the Northwest but I also could not be looking as hard. Just because you haven't seen them or maybe even heard of them, doesn't mean they don't exist in any area.

The FDA issued this national recall and if you happen to have picked some up and notice your Sea Salt Almond Alligators you're asked to return them.
