Annie was Fantastic at the Capitol Theatre
I was excited to see Annie live at the Capitol Theatre.
I grew up watching the movie version of Annie in the '80s. Admittedly, I don't remember much about watching it, but do remember I enjoyed watching it. If that makes sense. I just remember it was something I would ask my mom if we could watch it on multiple occasions.

There have been several versions released over the years as well, all with the same 'rags to riches' story.
I also saw the Warehouse Theatre do a production of Annie some 12 or so years ago and it was wonderfully done.
When I saw Annie was coming to the Capitol Theatre as part of their BEST series, I couldn't be more excited.
Yes, I could have exclaimed 'Leaping Lizards!' when I heard about the announcement or made a reference how I think you're going to like it here at the Capitol Theatre or that I was going to buy my tickets to see the Little Girls on stage but maybe I'll keep the puns to a minimum.
...Maybe.
Everyone did a fabulous job. The kids were actual youngsters on stage. Not 23 years pretending to be 11, but actual 11-year-olds (or however old they are individually). The singing and choreo was spot-on.
The adult ensemble was amazing as well.
I loved the fact that Sandy, the dog, was played by a real dog. This production company uses rescue dogs and trains them perform as needed, which mostly involves just walking on stage, laying down or sitting, and leaving the stage. It's not like they're doing backflips, though that would be impressive.
Annie is only at Capitol Theatre for one more night which is tonight as of writing this. Grab your tickets and you can tell me about it... Tomorrow.
