
This Tiny Washington Town Named One of the Best Places to Celebrate Halloween
When you think of Halloween towns, you may thing of Salem, Massachusetts or maybe even somewhere like New Orleans or, naturally, Sleepy Hollow, New York.
But did you know we have a great Halloween town right here in Washington State?

It's a tiny town of barely 600 people but every year, they go big for Halloween.
Welcome to Bucoda, Washignton
Any other time of year, Bucoda, Washington, located near Ground Mound south of Olympia, it seems like be like any other tiny town. The type of place that has the one fire station, the one local bar in Joe's Place, not even big enough for a McDonald's.

However, when it comes to Halloween, they pull out all the stops.
What's in a name?
I mean, first of all, the town is named Bucoda. Yet, closer to Halloween they hang signs that say welcome to Boo-Coda. The puns are always appreciated.

In this town, Halloween is celebrated all month long with parades, hearse processions, costumed dancing in the streets, and so much more.
They even have this house labeled as the Boo-Coda Halloween House. I'm sure there's some fun stuff happening in this creepy building during Halloween season.
This town pops up on many 'Best Places to Celebrate Halloween in Each State' list pretty often including HGTV that include some of the fun activities you can take part of include casket races, pumpkin carving, and visiting the local corn maze.
It's a bit of a drive from Yakima, but might be worth checking out if you're in the area.
