The drive-in movie experience was one rooted deep into so many youth back in the day. Thought it may have been peak popularity in the '50s and '60s, Yakima had a couple of drive-in movie theaters into the '80s and '90s with Country Drive-In on Nob Hill finally shutting down in October 2001.

Since then, Yakima has been without a drive-in. In fact, there aren't many drive-in theaters in all of Washington State which sounds like such a shame.

Because of this, Washington State is one of the worst states for drive-in theaters.

Washington State is ranked 2nd worst state for drive-in theaters.

Criteria for this list includes cost of ownership and maintenance, traffic, safety, and access to vehicles.

  • The worst state is Hawaii. I'm guessing because there isn't enough real estate in Hawaii to even host multiple drive-in theaters.

    The best states for drive-ins are Vermont in at #1 followed by flat states Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Indiana for the top 5.
