First Day of School Is The Toughest … On Moms, Anyway

Today was the first day of middle school for my baby, Shaylee. Little Shaylee is officially a fifth-grader at Naches Valley Middle School, complete with a locker.

Jackson is in seventh grade, which means seventh- and eighth-grade dances. Yikes!

Yes ... I cried when I left Shaylee. She was sitting at her desk, feeling overwhelmed when she started to tear up. She recovered, but I think that's what set me off as I was walking away from her class. I started to tear up -- complete with the ugly crying face -- but thankfully one of the moms who works at the school hugged me. She said she'll look after Shaylee.
