Though I was sad to see our Old Country Buffet go away during the pandemic, I was excited to hear we would be getting a new buffet that would feature Asian food. I do love my Asian food restaurants in town and when you make it a buffet, I'm all ears.

I have to admit, at my age, I don't feel like I can eat like I used to. I used to go to World Bistro (back when it was called China Buffet) in Rainier Square (back when it was called Nob Hill Plaza) and could easily go back for 5 or 6 plates. Now I'm lucky if I can get a third place. But it's fine because I love the variety so I don't mind on occasion.

And variety, this place had!

They had everything you could hope for and then some. They also had a person behind a hibachi-type grill that could prepare anything you wanted at no additional charge. He could also slice you off some roast beef or get you crab legs as needed.

It was fun to see that they had steamed dumplings like these, too. Not all places carry these.

The good news is they have a sushi conveyor belt. The bad news is you can't just sit in front of it like I was hoping. The sushi wasn't bad and I went back and grabbed more a couple of times during my visit.

You can't go wrong with desserts. They had plenty including fresh fruit and even hard scoop ice cream.

We had a great time and will return. I remember there was complaints on Facebook when they first opened where you'd have to pay for what you didn't eat or there were strange charges after they paid. We didn't experience any of that. Our receipt only showed our meals + our drinks, nothing else. And we definitely had plates taken away that still had food on them. Nothing to worry about there.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
