Tastykake Snack Cakes Found in WA, but Not at a Grocery Store
If you're from the East Coast or some parts of the Midwest, you're likely to know what Tastykakes are.
They're a snack cake company like a Hostess or Little Debbie but, and I can't explain it, they just taste better.
To me, they're the best snack cake company I've ever tried.
From their Butterscotch Krimpets to their Chocolate Juniors which is basically a literal slice of yellow cake with chocolate frosting, they have a nice selection.
It's unfortunate that most in the Pacific Northwest aren't familiar with this company with how amazing they are.
And though they don't have a full selection of what they offer, I was almost shocked to see any of them at all in Yakima.
Where can you find Tastykakes in Yakima, Washington?
I suppose it does kind of make sense that these are available at Jersey Mike's. A small taste of New Jersey right here in the northwest.
Jersey Mike's just opened its first location in Union Gap but haven't had a chance to check it out until this past weekend.
We happen to be at Valley Mall doing a bit of shopping when the inevitable question pops up of where we should grab food since we're on that side of town.
We hadn't tried Jersey Mike's yet so figured it was as good as time as any.
After we placed our orders I noticed the little chip stand that has your basic potato chips but that's when I also noticed a few Tastykake options.
I grabbed the Butterscotch Krimpets for myself. I'll grab another the next time.
Jersey Mike's was great, too. I'll definitely be back.
