How Did I Not Know This? Mind Blown

While I was at the Dwight Yoakam show Tuesday, I was sitting there minding my own business while my wonderful counterpart Jordan was admiring the concrete work on the ceiling of the SunDome. Now, this is something I am totally used to ... he owns his own construction company and loves concrete work, so he tends to point it out.

Anyway, he is pointing out the ceiling and by now I am obligated to look because he keeps jabbing me in the side with his elbow. And it's at this moment it dawns on me! THERE IS A SUN IN THE CENTER OF THE DOME! Hence SunDome -- seriously, mind blown.

Am I the only person who did not know this growing up here for 28 years?! Am I this oblivious? Probably. Is this really the reason why the SunDome got its name? I do not know but I am saying there is a chance!
