Isn’t It Time for a Country Performer at the Super Bowl?
The Super Bowl halftime show hasn't featured a country artist since 2003, when Shania Twain performed.
And it looks like us country music lovers will be waiting another year -- this year's performer was announced over the weekend: Justin Timberlake.
Now, don't get me wrong I love me some JT, but I think it's really time for a country artist or a group of country artist to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show.
Here's my Super Bowl halftime show wish list:
Kenny Chesney, along with Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan.
Or maybe the women of country music with Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris with Reba McEntire.
Garth Brooks
Eric Church with Keith Urban
And I know she's not country anymore, but I'll take Taylor Swift.
I'm hoping that since Justin Timberlake is a Chris Stapleton fan, maybe, just maybe, Stapleton might show up with JT at the Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis. That would cut the chances of another slip like the one that happened to Janet Jackson when she and Timberlake performed during the 2004 Super Bowl.
Which country artist would like to see perform at the Super Bowl halftime show?
