POLICE WERE ENCOURAGED WITH THE LOWER CRASH NUMBERS

The week before that Officers investigated 21 collisions with 7 the result of a driver not stopping for a red light. It's an ongoing problem in Yakima and one of the reasons for the ongoing speed emphasis patrols.

WATCH YOUR DRIVING AT THREE SPECIFIC INTERSECTIONS

Not all of the crashes are happening at the same intersections but many are being reported at three popular intersections in Yakima;

*40th Avenue and Powerhouse Road
*East Yakima Avenue and 17th Street
*16th Avenue and Summitview
The patrol numbers are available for Union Gap but Officers in both cities continue searching for drivers who don't obey traffic laws hoping to cut the number of serious injury and fatal crashes in Yakima and Union Gap. In a Hurry in Yakima or Union Gap? Don't Speed Because Police Are Watching.
