Major Rain Prompts Flooding Around the Valley

That major rain storm that poured down across Yakima County has caused flooding on the Yakima River and the Ahtanum and Satus Creeks. The Yakima County Commissioners declared and emergency to repair significant levee damage due to quickly rising waters. No one was injured in the events but the massive rain fall has caused city drains to clog leaving a lot of standing water at major intersections.

The Irony of this rain storm is the fact the Yakima City Councilpersons and Yakima County Commissioners were just discussing flooding and the long term plan to deal with it. I think the Commissioners ordered the big storm to prove a point.
