As a new movie called 'Being the Ricardos' is in the works, telling the story of what some of life was like for Lucille Ball and Dezi Arnaz, during their 'I Love Lucy' days, America's new-found love of streaming has never been bigger. Old meets new, however, as old 'Lucy' shows can be streamed on-demand now too - as well as many other classics.

The way we watch television has dramatically changed, for the better, I feel, because there are so many more choices and ways to watch a seemingly endless litany of programming. One of the great advancements would certainly be the availability of 'On-Demand' viewing. One doesn't even have to plan ahead and set up a recording, you just watch it when you have time. This also has led many to 'binge-watching' - and I'm certainly guilty as charged in that respect.

My wife and I, fortunately, have very similar tastes when it comes to television shows we watch. We seem to enjoy the same types of comedies, dramas, documentaries, etc. so there is very little arguing over what to watch. And, she controls the remote anyway so, resistance is futile.

New shows are great, but we've also watched not just entire seasons of shows but entire series of shows - all within a very short amount of time. This requires binging on top of binging. It's kind of fun - until - and you know what I'm going to say if you've done this -- until it's OVER. Then, there's a sense of loss and also a tab bit of shame that you failed to jump on the bandwagon of a series when everyone else was raving about it.

Right now, for example, we're currently up to Season 7 of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' and only have 3 more seasons after that. It only has taken a couple of weeks for us to be six and a half seasons in - and already the dread is creeping in.
